Delhi HC Orders Removal Of Arvind Kejriwal's Court Address Video From Social Media Platforms — All About It

The Delhi High Court on Saturday directed removal of content from social media platforms related to the alleged recording and posting of trial court proceedings when Delhi CM had personally addressed the court on 28 March.
A Division Bench of Justices Neena Bansal Krishna and Amit Sharma further directed the social media companies like X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to take down identical content if reposted and upon the same being notified by the petitioner to counsel for social media entities.
The Bench also issued notice to Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal, the social media platforms and other social media handles who had posted the video.
The HC was hearing a PIL moved by advocate Vaibhav Singh seeking formation of an SIT to investigate and register an FIR against the “alleged conspiracy of recording and sharing the audio and video” of the court proceedings and “putting the life” of the trial court judge at “risk”.
The petition argued the Delhi CM's wife, as well as social media handles of the AAP and some opposition parties, had made copies of the video of court proceedings and posted it online.
"The order be communicated to them within 48 hours. Service be also effected through ordinary and electronic mode,” the bench said.
The video in question is one of the Delhi CM Kejriwal presenting his side of the case to the court on 28 March.
Kejriwal addressed the court directly, and accused the Enforcement Directorate of trying "to crush" his party.
He pointed out that no 'bribes' allegedly received by his party had been recovered.
