The civil work of the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro is about 50 per cent complete. One section from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension is likely to be opened in August as the work on this part is almost complete.

There are three priority corridors in the fourth phase — Majlis Park–Maujpur, Aerocity–Tughlakabad (golden line) and Janakpuri West–RK Ashram Marg (magenta line).

"On the Majlis Park–Maujpur section, about 80 per cent of civil work has already been completed," Principal Executive Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in Corporate Communications, Anuj Dayal said.

"Tunnelling work is in progress on various stretches on the Aerocity–Tughlakabad (golden line) and the Janakpuri West–RK Ashram Marg (magenta line) corridors," Dayal added.

Another Delhi Metro official explained that the work on the fourth phase of Delhi Metro was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He also cited delays in tree-cutting permissions.

Recently, approval was granted to two more corridors under phase 4. These are Inderlok–Indraprastha and Saket G Block–Lajpat Nagar. Statutory clearances are being sought for them.
