The Delhi Police chargesheet includes various pieces of technical evidence supporting the allegations made by six top wrestlers against Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
The evidence against Singh includes two photographs allegedly showing him making advances towards one complainant, his phone location matching another complainant's testimony, and a set of photos confirming his presence at an event where an alleged incident of sexual harassment occurred.
However, it is noted that there was no Visitor's Register or CCTV footage available at the WFI office on Ashoka Road, which is Singh's home and the location of at least two incidents of sexual harassment according to the complaints.
The chargesheet concludes that Singh is liable to be prosecuted and punished for the offenses of sexual harassment, molestation, and stalking under Sections 506, 354, 354A, and 354D of the Indian Penal Code.
The chargesheet highlights the technical evidence provided by the WFI, such as photographs and videographs of various events, which strongly support the complainant's allegations regarding the presence of Singh.
Each complaint is outlined with the corresponding allegations and the status of the technical evidence:
Wrestler 2: Allegations: Singh asked the complainant to engage in a physical relationship in exchange for help with an injury. Evidence: The complainant's coach's mobile tower location was near the vicinity of the WFI office during the alleged incident.
Wrestler 3: Allegations: Singh touched the complainant's buttock forcefully while they were posing for a team photograph. Evidence: Photographs provided by the WFI show the complainant sitting in the front row with other wrestlers, with Singh also present, corroborating the allegations.
Wrestler 4: Allegations: Singh touched the complainant's breast and stomach without permission while she was lying down on the mat. Evidence: The complainant is seen standing with other wrestlers and Singh in photographs, confirming their presence at the place of the incident.
Wrestler 5: Allegations: Singh pulled the complainant towards him by the shoulder, but the complainant tried to move away. Evidence: The WFI provided photographs of the championship showing the presence of the victim and Singh at the event.
Wrestler 6: Allegations: Singh forcefully hugged the complainant without permission after making her talk to her parents on the phone. Evidence: The chargesheet mentions that a notice was sent to the WFI requesting photographs and details of the hotel and room number where the wrestler stayed, but no reply has been received so far.
These details form the basis of the chargesheet filed against Singh by the Delhi Police, and the evidence provided will be considered in the legal proceedings.
