Delhi witnessed another wave of bomb threats on Tuesday morning (17 December) leading to the evacuation of multiple schools in South and North West Delhi.

Among the targeted institutions were the Indian Public School in South Delhi and a school in Saraswati Vihar, North West Delhi. Police, fire brigade personnel, and bomb squads promptly arrived at the locations, ensuring all premises were evacuated for thorough safety checks.

This incident adds to a concerning trend of escalating bomb threats in the city. On 14 December, six schools, including Delhi Public School in RK Puram, Ryan International School in Vasant Kunj, and Gyan Bharati School in Saket, received similar threats via email. Authorities confirmed the emails were sent at 1:47 am, alarming school officials with their chilling content.

The email stated: “On Saturday where students may not be there in your buildings is when the buildings shall be brought down. Our bomb vests are blessed by the Prophet Muhammad. They shall not fail their goal. Our children are brave servants of Allah. They shall complete their task.”

Earlier incidents highlight the pattern of such threats. On 13 December, around 30 schools across Delhi received bomb threats, triggering multi-agency searches.

Similarly, on 9 December, 44 schools were targeted with identical threats. In all cases, the threats were declared hoaxes after thorough inspections.

Delhi Police and other agencies are investigating the source of the emails, which appear to follow a deliberate pattern. Authorities have assured citizens that every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of students and school staff.
