Kartavya Path Lights Up: Drone Show, Ram Katha, and Cultural Performances Dazzle Delhi (X)
Delhi celebrated its inaugural “Deepotsav” on Saturday evening (18 October), as Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the grand event at Kartavya Path, reported India TV.
Beginning at 6.00 pm, participants lit 1.51 lakh earthen lamps, accompanied by vibrant cultural performances, immersive Ram Katha storytelling sessions, and a mesmerizing drone show that brightened the night sky.
Sharing her thoughts on X, CM Rekha Gupta described the festival as a “cultural awakening of Hindu festivals” and a moment symbolising the “resurgence of faith, self-pride, and eternal tradition.”
She invited citizens to witness the historic spectacle, noting that such celebrations reflect “the unity and spiritual vibrancy of Indian culture.”
While Delhi hosted its first-ever Deepotsav, Ayodhya is preparing to set a spiritual benchmark with 2.8 million lamps adorning 56 ghats along the Sarayu River.
Diwali, also known as Deepawali, stands as one of India’s most cherished festivals, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
It marks Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana, a tale deeply embedded in the Ramayana.
