'Derogatory Comments Unacceptable But Won't Tolerate Anarchy In Name Of Protests': Yogi Adityanath's Warning After Dasna Incident

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday (7 October) warned both those who hurt others' religious sentiments and those who create anarchy in the name of protests against such things.

The remarks come after a large number of Muslim men gathered around Dasna Devi temple in Ghaziabad following Yati Narsimhanand's alleged comments against Mohammed, the Prophet in Islam.

The UP Police soon handled the mob and arrested 10 of the protestors. Cases were lodged against Narsimhanand across the country. UP Police is maintaining high security outside the Dasna Devi temple.

Commenting on these developments, Adityanath posted on X, "Derogatory comments against deities, gods and goddesses, great men and saints belonging to any caste, religion or sect are unacceptable."

"The safety of everyone in the state is our top priority. UP government is committed to conducting festivals and celebrations in a cordial manner," the UP CM said amid Navratris.

Keeping the festive season in mind, Adityanath had earlier ordered a crackdown on the open sale of meat and illegal slaughterhouses and heightened intelligence coordination to prevent mishaps.

Adityanath also asked officials to remain vigilant during upcoming festivals, ensuring that no untoward incidents occur. He urged district administrations to review past incidents and take precautions.
