Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (10 April) launched a scathing attack on DMK, saying that the youth of Tamil Nadu are not getting a chance to move ahead due to the party's family politics.
Addressing a rally in Tamil Nadu's vellore, PM Modi also highlighted the growing support for the BJP in the southern State.

Optimism for Tamil Nadu's Future
PM Modi conveyed his best wishes for the Nav Varsh and expressed confidence in the positive changes the upcoming elections would bring to Tamil Nadu.
"I extend my best wishes to all of you for the upcoming Nav Varsh on 14 April. I firmly believe that this year will further strengthen the journey of Tamil Nadu, and the upcoming elections will instil new enthusiasm in the people of Tamil Nadu."
Support for BJP in Tamil Nadu
The Prime Minister highlighted the growing support for the BJP, suggesting a preference for his government's return among the Tamil Nadu populace.
"The BJP is getting immense public support in Tamil Nadu. The entire Tamil Nadu is saying, 'Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar'," he said.
India's Development Under NDA
PM Modi emphasised the transformation of India from a state of disarray before 2014 to its current status as an emerging global power, crediting his government's efforts.
"In the last 10 years, the Central Government of the NDA has built the foundations for a developed India. But today, India is emerging as a global power," PM Modi said.
Infrastructure Development in Vellore
"Soon, the airport under the UDAN scheme will be operational here. It will place Vellore on the air connectivity map of India," he said.
Criticism of DMK
Modi criticised the DMK for obstructing Tamil Nadu's development and prosperity, labelling the party as a 'family company.'
"For Tamil Nadu, it's time to lead the journey of building a developed India. But DMK doesn't want Tamil Nadu to open up, to move ahead, and to embrace development and prosperity," he said.
"The entire DMK has become a 'family company'. It is due to family politics of the DMK that the youth of Tamil Nadu is is not getting any chance to prosper," he added.
PM Modi said that family politics, corruption and anti-Tamil culture are the three criteria to succeed in DMK.
Allegations of Corruption Against DMK
The Prime Minister accused the DMK of corruption, highlighting the financial losses Tamil Nadu suffered due to alleged sand smuggling.
"The DMK party has 'earned' the 'first copyright' on corruption. It has been revealed that sand smugglers have caused a loss of Rs 4,600 crore to Tamil Nadu in just 2 years," he said.
Attack on DMK-Congress combine
PM Modi said that the Congress and DMK have kept the people of Tamil Nadu in dark.
"They callously gave away the Katchatheevu island to Sri Lanka and meted out injustice to our fishermen. The NDA government has been continuously getting our fishermen released and getting them back home." he said.
