Election Commission of India
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that it is developing ECINET, a unified digital platform aimed at consolidating over 40 existing electoral apps and portals into a single, streamlined interface.
Designed with a modern user interface and simplified user experience, ECINET will serve as a one-stop destination for citizens, election officials, political parties, and civil society.
It seeks to eliminate the need for users to juggle multiple applications and logins while offering easy access to electoral data and services via desktop and mobile devices.
According to a statement by the poll panel, the platform was envisaged by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Gyanesh Kumar during the Conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) held in March 2025.
The project is being developed with inputs from 36 State and UT CEOs, 767 District Election Officers, and 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers, and after review of 76 ECI publications spanning over 9,000 pages.
Key applications to be integrated include the Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, ESMS, Saksham, and the KYC App — which collectively account for more than 5.5 crore downloads.
ECINET is expected to benefit:
Over 100 crore registered voters
Around 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs)
15 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of political parties
15,597 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs)
4,123 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs)
767 District Election Officers (DEOs)
The platform is currently in advanced stages of development, undergoing rigorous testing to ensure cybersecurity, performance, and user accessibility.
To maintain data accuracy, only authorized ECI officials will input data into ECINET.
According to the Election Commission, entry by the concerned official would ensure that the data made available to the stakeholders is as accurate as possible.
However, in case of any conflict, the primary data as duly filled in statutory forms will prevail.
The data provided through ECINET will be strictly aligned within the legal framework established by the Representation of People Act 1950, 1951, Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960 Conduct of Election Rules, 1961 and instructions issued by ECI from time to time, according to the poll panel.
