Kangana Ranaut in Emergency
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) informed the Bombay High Court (HC) on Thursday (26 September) that its revising committee has recommended certain cuts in Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency.
The remarks come as the deadline given by the Bombay HC to CBFC to decide on the controversial film ended on 25 September. The film will only be cleared for release after these modifications.
The hearing was then adjourned till Monday. On the 19 September hearing, the two-judge bench emphasised creative freedom and the freedom of speech and expression while hearing the plea filed by Zee Studios.
Earlier on 4 September, the court passed an order directing the CBFC to decide on whether to release the movie by 18 September but the decision was not taken because the matter was referred to the revising committee of the CBFC.
