After Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav claimed of "not being invited" to Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh issued a clarification.

In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh said that the detailed route and programme of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh are being prepared and will be finalised in a day or two.

Responding to Akhilesh Yadav's claim of not being invited, the Congress leader assured that the plan will be shared with the constituent parties of INDI Alliance in the state.

Jairam Ramesh's clarification comes as Congress might be wary of parties leaving INDI Alliance during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Before the Yatra could enter Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar announced his exit from the INDI Alliance.

Days after Bihar CM's exit, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also pledged to "not share a single seat" with the Congress in the state. Earlier, another ally CPI(M) had warned of not joining the Yatra if Trinamool Congress does.

Also, Congress' alliance with the Akhilesh Yadav-led party has not been smooth in UP as the SP announced 16 Lok Sabha candidates unilaterally while the seat-sharing talks were already on and blindsided the Congress.
