For Panthic Unity And Sikh Issues, Former Delhi Gurdwara Committee Head Manjit Singh G K Returns To Shiromani Akali Dal

In a significant development, former Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh G K, along with his entire Jago party team, has rejoined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

The move aims to strengthen the party in the national capital and work towards resolving pending Sikh issues, according to a press release from the Akali Dal and reported by Indian Express.

Manjit Singh GK, who pledged to collaborate with Delhi SAD president Paramjit Singh Sarna, emphasised working in tandem to bolster the party and address concerns within the Sikh community.

Sarna also expressed his support for SAD president Sukhbir Badal, recognising him as the undisputed leader.

Meanwhile, SAD (Sanyukt) is set to form a committee to decide whether to merge with the Akali Dal led by Sukhbir Badal.

Manjit Singh GK, impressed by Sukhbir Badal's apology to the Sikh community for the failure to address the 2015 sacrilege cases, announced his unconditional return to the SAD along with his Jago party team.

He stressed the importance of panthic unity to address issues such as the release of Sikh prisoners, amendment to Article 25, and restitution of gurdwaras.

Sukhbir Badal welcomed Manjit Singh GK back into the party, expressing his wish for panthic unity.

He recalled the significant contributions of Manjit Singh GK's father, Jathedar Santokh Singh, to the Sikh cause and urged others to return to the SAD fold.

The move is seen as a positive step towards panthic unity and strengthening the Akali Dal in both Delhi and Punjab.
