Government Plans Creation Of 40 Lakh Direct, Indirect Jobs Through Planned Industrialisation

The government is planning to create 40 lakh direct and indirect jobs through planned industrialisation.
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday (28 August) approved 12 industrial cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
The project is estimated to be completed at an investment of Rs 28,602 crore.
The government expects that the planned industrialisation project will lead to creation of 10 direct and up to 30 lakh indirect jobs.
These industrial cities will span across 10 states and will be strategically planned along major corridors.
These cities will be developed as greenfield smart cities of global standards, built "ahead of demand" on the 'plug-n-play' and 'walk-to-work' concepts.
Aligned with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the projects will feature multi-modal connectivity infrastructure, ensuring seamless movement of people, goods, and services. The industrial cities are envisioned to be growth centres for transformation of whole region, the government said in a statement.
These industrial nodes will act as catalysts for achieving $2 trillion in exports by 2030, reflecting the government's vision of a self-reliant and globally competitive India, the statement added.
