The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has finalised plans for two new flyovers at Ambedkar Chowk and Dadi Sati Chowk to address chronic traffic congestion.

Tenders for the projects are likely to be floated by 15 August, with construction expected to take around two years, Times of India reported.

Ambedkar Chowk, a busy junction connecting sectors 45, 46, 51, and 52, currently handles about 6,100 passenger car units (PCUs) during peak hours.

The proposed 700-metre flyover, costing Rs 52 crore, will help decongest the area and improve connectivity to Sohna Road.

Dadi Sati Chowk, which links sectors 85, 86, 89, and 90, faces even heavier traffic, with daily PCUs nearing 9,400 and projected to exceed 10,000 by the time construction work begins.

Both flyovers will feature 11-metre widths with three lanes in each direction and additional service roads.

The designs account for future traffic growth and urban expansion.

Administrative approvals were granted in July last year, and with detailed project reports now completed, GMDA is focusing on completing the tendering process promptly.
