A defective helicopter, which was being air lifted by an MI-17 helicopter, came crashing down in Uttarakhand's Kedarnath on Saturday (31 August) morning.

The helicopter, operated by a private company, crashed near the Mandakini River in Lincholi.

An official confirmed that there were no injuries in the incident, which was caught on camera.

The helicopter, which had to make an emergency landing due to a technical fault on 24 May earlier this year, was being airlifted by Mi-17 aircraft from Kedarnath to Gauchar airstrip for repair work.

Meanwhile, the SDRF has said that the helicopter crashed into Mandakini river at Lincholi near Tharu camp.

"The SDRF team has reached the spot and relief work is going on. There has been no loss of life in this incident," an SDRF official was quoted as saying by ANI.
