Malini Parthasarathy, the Chairperson of The Hindu Group Publishing, has announced her resignation from the company's board, citing a shrinking space for her editorial views and the inability to eliminate entrenched ideological bias from the publications.
Parthasarathy, who also served as Director of Editorial Strategy, expressed her commitment to reviving The Hindu Group's legacy of fair and unbiased reporting. However, she stated that the scope for her efforts in achieving this goal had significantly narrowed, leading to her decision to step down.
The Hindu Group, often criticized for its alleged left-leaning bias, has faced accusations of providing lopsided criticism of the Narendra Modi government. Most recently, the publication's coverage of allegations of corruption in the Rafale aircraft purchase from France, which were dismissed by the Supreme Court, has been viewed as biased against the BJP.
