The Aam Aadmi Party has begun a social media campaign, #ILoveManishSisodia, as an attempt to recover from the dent Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s arrest has caused.

Under the campaign, ‘I love Manish Sisodia’ desks have been put in and around Delhi schools.

The BJP alleges that AAP's intention is to pepper over Sisodia’s arrest in the Delhi liquor scam, by spinning a narrative around education.

Their case is strengthened by top AAP leaders tweeting “letters from children” addressing Sisodia as “chacha” or “uncle".

The AAP government has been claiming its education model to be its greatest achievement in the last eight years of being in power. Sisodia, who was both education and excise minister, has been credited with what the party calls its “education revolution”. However, the facts on the ground paint a different picture.

However, playing up the 'education model' and using children to make political point does help the party to play the ‘victim card’ and allege vendetta by the BJP.

The Delhi BJP has condemned the AAP for using kids for their ‘dirty politics’. “It is regrettable that even after Sisodia's arrest, the Delhi government is not stopping its dirty politics in the name of education and has now stooped as low as to involving innocent school kids in it”, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said.

The party has been organising protests all over the city demanding resignation of CM Kejriwal over the now-scrapped excise policy.

The AAP, however, is intensifying its theatrics to withstand the scrutiny it faces over the liquor scam. Saurabh Bhardwaj, who is set to become a minister in the Delhi cabinet, called it a testing time, and hoped that the party would bounce back.
