A Pakistani boat was apprehended with 14 Pakistani crew and 86 kilograms (kg) of contraband worth Rs 600 crore in an overnight sea-air operation after intelligence input.

Indian Coast Guard, with its ship Rajratan, and in a coordinated joint operation with Anti-Terror Squad Gujarat and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) completed this mission.

The Pakistani boat was apprehended in the Arabian Sea, west of Porbandar. This comes after an interception last month that led to a catch of 80 kg of drugs.

Ships and aircraft on concurrent missions were deployed to ensure the efficiency of the operation. ICGS Rajratan had NCB and ATS officials on board, NDTV reported.

The suspected drug-laden boat tried to evade but the vigilant ship successfully identified and intercepted it. A thorough search was then conducted.

A specialised team from the ship confirmed the presence of drugs on the Pakistani boat leading to its seizure and arrest of its crew for further investigation.
