India-China Complete Disengagement Along LAC, Set To Exchange Sweets On Diwali: Report

The disengagement process between India and China in the Depsang and Demchok areas has been completed, with the Indian armed forces now conducting verification, according to informed sources.

Sources from the Indian Army indicated to ANI that coordinated patrolling will commence soon by both sides, and ground commanders will continue to engage in discussions.

Additionally, the Indian and Chinese troops are in the process of verifying the withdrawal from positions and the removal of infrastructure along Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Following India’s announcement of a patrolling agreement in Depsang Plains and Demchok, China confirmed that both sides were "engaged in relevant work," describing it as progressing smoothly.

Following this agreement, troops began the disengagement process at Demchok and the Depsang plains the next day. Both sides are also set to exchange sweets on Diwali tomorrow.

In Depsang, Indian forces will soon have access to patrolling points beyond the bottleneck where Chinese troops previously restricted entry. In Demchok, Indian troops are expected to patrol at Track Junction and Charding Nullah.
