India Hit Pakistan Army Headquarter, Nuclear Command Body With Drones During Operation Sindoor: Report

The drone strikes carried out by Indian forces on May 8 targeted multiple critical locations within Pakistan’s military infrastructure, according to a report in the Hindustan Times by Rezaul H Laskar.

Among the sites hit were the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters, the Strategic Plans Division (SPD), and a wing of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) responsible for Kashmir operations—all located in Rawalpindi.

The SPD is a crucial branch of Pakistan’s military apparatus responsible for overseeing the country’s nuclear arsenal and related strategic assets. It plays a key role in the command and control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program, including the development, deployment, and security of missile systems.

The report highlights that the drones struck the outskirts of sensitive military complexes such as the General Headquarters and SPD in Rawalpindi, as well as the National Defence Complex (NDC) in Attock district, which is involved in manufacturing transporter-erector-launcher vehicles for missiles.

The Hindustan Times report confirm that at least one person was killed near the cricket stadium adjacent to the ISI facility in Rawalpindi, and another fatality occurred in the Attock area near the NDC complex.

While the drone strikes did not cause extensive damage, the report says that the primary aim was to demonstrate India’s capability to hit Pakistan where it hurts.
