Amid heightened India-Pakistan tensions after Operation Sindoor, the Chief Ministers of India’s border states have initiated a series of emergency measures to ensure civilian safety, maintain essential services, and reinforce border security.

Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are in regular contact with state leaders and security agencies to monitor and guide the response.

Here’s a detailed, state-wise account of their actions based on the latest developments:

CM Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level meeting at the State Emergency Operation Centre in Gandhinagar, with senior secretaries, police chiefs, and district administrators and ordered activation of evacuation plans for border villages, especially in sensitive districts like Kachchh, Banaskantha, Patan, and Jamnagar.

All district control rooms and emergency centres are to remain operational round-the-clock.

District officials are instructed to ensure sufficient stocks of food, water, fuel, and medicines. Health and transport departments are on standby with personnel and rapid-response teams.

Bhuj Airport was handed over to the army, and all health sector leaves were cancelled except for critical illness.

Campaigns are underway to prevent panic and misinformation. Residents are urged to follow official channels and report suspicious activities immediately.

Jammu and Kashmir, already being heavily guarded by Indian Defence forces, CM Omar Abdullah Visited Jammu Hospital to meet civilians injured by Pakistani shelling in Poonch.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann convened an urgent Cabinet meeting at his residence to assess the situation after widespread blackouts and sirens in border areas.

10 Cabinet ministers were immediately dispatched to border districts.

These ministers are tasked with inspecting hospitals, fire stations, ration supplies, and emergency services. The move comes amid concerns that the ruling party was not visible on the ground during the crisis.

The government set up Disaster Management Control Rooms.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired an emergency meeting at his residence to review security and emergency preparedness.

Enforced nightly blackouts (9 pm–4 am) in border districts.

Deployed State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams to border areas.

Issued strict public safety protocols: stay indoors, stock essentials, follow sirens.
