Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India is ready to assist Pakistan in combating terrorism if the latter feels it is incapable of doing so alone.

In glimpses from an podcast shared by news agency ANI on X, Rajnath warned that Pakistan will have to suffer the consequences of its actions in case it tries to destabilise India using terror as a tool.

Singh underscored the necessity for Pakistan to control the terror originating from its territory, and expressed India's willingness to extend support in this regard.

"If Pakistan feels incapable, India is ready to cooperate to stop terrorism," Singh said.

Furthermore, he reiterated India's stance on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, affirming that it "was, is and will remain part of India".

Earlier last week, Singh had said that India will give a "befitting reply" to any act of terror emanating from Pakistan.

He said that even Pakistan now understands that India won’t sit like a lame duck if provoked by terror attacks.

“India now has the strength and Pakistan is also understanding this now,” Singh said.

He, however, added that India wants to maintain cordial relations with its neighbouring countries.

“If one sees India’s past, you can see we have never initiated any aggression against any neighbour. But if someone keeps instigating India and promote terrorism in India, we will not spare them,” the Defence Minister added.
