India Shines At Grammys: Ustad Zakir Hussain And Rakesh Chaurasia Win Award For Best Global Music Performance — Here's All About It

At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, California, two Indians have bagged Grammy awards while an album featuring a talented ensemble of Indian artists titled 'This Moment' by Shakti won award for 'Best Global Music Album', according to a report from LiveMint.

Zakir Hussain won the Best Global Music Performance Grammy for his contribution to "Pashto", alongside Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia.

This marked Hussain's third Grammy win, while Rakesh Chaurasia, a virtuoso flute player, celebrated his second Grammy victory.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammys) shared the news on social media, congratulating the Best Global Music Album winner, "This Moment" by Shakti.

He highlighted the brilliance of the album "This Moment", featuring four Indian musicians — Shankar Mahadevan, Selvaganesh Vinayakram, Ganesh Rajagopalan and Ustad Zakir Hussain.

Shankar Mahadevan from Shakti clinched the award for Best Global Music Album for "This Moment".

The artists were nominated alongside others such as Susana Baca, Bokante, Burna Boy and Davido.

"This Moment" features eight songs crafted by a talented ensemble including John McLaughlin (guitar, guitar synth), Zakir Hussain (tabla), Shankar Mahadevan (vocalist), V Selvaganesh (percussionist), and Ganesh Rajagopalan (violinist).
