India To Treat Any Future Terror Attack As Act Of War, Respond Accordingly: Report

In a strong policy shift, India will now treat any future act of terrorism on its soil as an act of war, warranting a corresponding response.
The development marks a hardening of India's national security doctrine in the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack.
This approach is likely aimed at Pakistan, signalling that the cost of sponsoring or executing terror strikes will be far more severe than before.
"India has decided that any future act of terror will be considered an Act of War against India and will be responded accordingly," DD News reported citing government sources.
India has launched 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 innocent people, mostly tourists, were brutally killed by Pakistan-based terrorists on 22 April.
According to media reports, top JeM and LeT terrorists were killed in the Indian strikes.
Among those neutralised were Maulana Yusuf Azhar—one of the masterminds of the IC-814 hijacking—JeM’s weapons trainer, and key operational figures involved in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
The targets also included individuals managing radical indoctrination centres and arms smuggling networks.
Following the strikes, Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks in multiple locations across India. Most of the drones were shot down by India's air defence systems.
