Indian Army launched an anti-filtration operation on Monday (9 September) morning killing two terrorists and recovering a large quantity of war-like stores in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

White Knight Corps of the Indian Army got inputs from intelligence agencies and J&K Police, after which Operation Kanchi was launched on the intervening night of 8-9 September in the general area of Lam, Nowshera.

"Two terrorists have been neutralised and a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK-47s and one Pistol thus far recovered. Search operation is in progress," They Army Corps posted on X.


Last week, a brief encounter between suspected militants and security forces near Thanamandi town on the evening of 3 September sparked panic in the district.

Last month, security forces initiated an operation in the Lathi area of the district following information about the presence of terrorists.
