A new Rs 150 crore Vande Bharat maintenance hub will be set up at the Nishatpura Rail Coach Factory near Bhopal Junction in Madhya Pradesh, Times of India reported.
The facility will reportedly be integrated into a comprehensive multidisciplinary training centre at Nishatpura, dedicated to training railway staff in various aspects of Vande Bharat operations.
This comprehensive maintenance and training facility at Nishatpura is poised to greatly strengthen India’s railway infrastructure.
It will act as an essential centre for both the upkeep and operational management of Vande Bharat trains.
The facility will be capable of maintaining nearly 10 Vande Bharat trains.
With a contemporary lab focused on Vande Bharat operations and maintenance, the centre aims to make Bhopal a national training hotspot for Vande Bharat staff.
Set to be operational next year, the Nishatpura facility will be equipped with amenities including a hostel, canteen, administrative building, library, computer centre, auditorium and medical room.
"Soon the work will start once the tendering process is over," Agarwal was quoted as saying by ToI.
Loco pilots, station masters, guards, and other staff will be trained in technical operations, telecom, engineering, signals, accounts, personnel management, stores maintenance, traffic, and railway systems at the facility.
The facility's lab will be equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and simulation systems to provide hands-on training experience.
Railway Staff will be intensively trained on Vande Bharat operations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
The setting up of this facility aligns with Indian Railways’ drive to modernise and boost operational efficiency.
