The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of India’s largest steel producers, has taken a major step toward international expansion with the inauguration of its first overseas office in Dubai, the Ministry of Steel said in a statement

With an annual crude steel production capacity of over 20 million tonnes, SAIL aims to enhance its global footprint and strengthen India’s steel exports.

Strategically located in Dubai, the new office is set to serve as a gateway to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

It will help SAIL tap into emerging markets, deepen regional business ties, and promote India-UAE trade.

Dubai’s pro-investment environment and its position as a logistics hub make it an ideal choice for the company’s international debut.

SAIL’s new international office is expected to play a key role in this transformation by facilitating increased exports and promoting Indian steel in global markets.

Speaking at the inauguration, Union Minister of Steel, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises H D Kumaraswamy highlighted the strategic significance of the initiative, saying, “By establishing three PSU units from India – SAIL, MECON, and NMDC – this relationship is going to be strengthened. The three offices that we inaugurated over the last two days represent our commitment to strengthening our CPSEs using the Prime Minister’s strong relationship with the UAE.”

“Our intention in establishing all three offices here is the beginning of a new chapter to develop both countries’ relationship further,” he added.
