"Irate Mob" Tried To "Breach" Police Headquarters In Manipur Injuring Three BSF Personnel, Second Attack On Security Forces In A Day

Manipur witnessed two violent incidents of attacks on security forces on Wednesday (17 January). One happened in the early morning in Moreh of Tengnoupal district which killed two security personnel and injured six.

The other was reported late at night from Thoubal district. Manipur Police said that "an irate mob" targeted the third Indian Reserve Battalion (3IRB) injuring three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who are receiving medical treatment at Raj Medicity in Imphal.


"Armed miscreants from among the mob fired with live rounds. As a result, three personnel from BSF sustained bullet injuries namely Constable Gourav Kumar, ASI Sobram Singh, and ASI Ramji," Manipur Police posted on X.

Earlier too, incidents have been reported from Manipur where security establishments were attacked with the intention of looting arms and ammunition.
