Israel has eliminated two high-ranking Iranian generals in its fresh strikes in Iran on Saturday (14 June), India Today reported.

The strikes came after Iranian missile and rocket attacks on Tel Aviv earlier on Saturday, with explosions also reported in Jerusalem and several other locations across Israel.

The latest airstrikes came in the aftermath of Israel's largest-ever strikes on Iran, in which it targeted nuclear sites, eliminated senior military officials and damaged key infrastructure.

The Israeli army launched a third round of airstrikes on Tehran, with explosions reported across several parts of the city.

Iran’s assault, dubbed 'Operation True Promise', killed at least three people across Israel and injured around 34 others.

Meanwhile, Israel's 'Operation Rising Lion', which launched on Friday and continued on Saturday, killed at least 78 people, and left over 320 injured.

"ELIMINATED: 9 senior scientists and experts responsible for advancing the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons program. All of the eliminated scientists and experts, eliminated based on intelligence, were key factors in the development of Iranian nuclear weapons. Their elimination is a significant blow to the regime’s ability to acquire weapons of mass destruction," the IDF said.

According to a statement released by the Communications and Information Center of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces on Saturday, Brigadier General Gholamreza Mehrabi and Brigadier General Mehdi Rabbani were killed during the latest Israeli airstrikes.

Mehrabi was the deputy intelligence chief of Iran’s armed forces, and Rabbani oversaw operational command.

Iran also confirmed that its Fordo nuclear facility sustained limited damage following recent Israeli strikes, semi-official ISNA news agency said.

"There has been limited damage to some areas at the Fordow enrichment site. We had already moved a significant part of the equipment and materials out, and there was no extensive damage and there are no contamination concerns," state atomic energy agency spokesperson Behrouz Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by The Times of Israel.
