Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has claimed to have received a legal notice from Chief Minister MK Stalin over the drug connection of expelled DMK functionary Jaffer Sadiq.

Sadiq was arrested a few days ago by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after being identified as the "kingpin" in the India-Australia-New Zealand Drug trafficking network.

"TN CM Thiru MK Stalin has been tight-lipped ever since the involvement of DMK functionary and International drug lord Jaffar Sadiq made the news," Annamalai said.

"After Jaffar Sadiq’s arrest by the NCB and his nexus is being investigated, Thiru MK Stalin has sent a legal notice to me asking us to refrain from discussing this matter further," he added.

Earlier, Annamalai shared a clip of NCB's press conference claiming that Jaffar Sadiq invested drug money in making movies, real estate and hotels, even "political funding".

He has been bringing out Sadiq's links to top DMK leaders. Sadiq was the deputy organiser of the DMK's NRI wing in the Chennai West area before being expelled by the party.

Sadiq is also a producer of Tamil films. He has photos with CM Stalin and his son Udayanidhi Stalin, who swung into damage control mode immediately deleting all photographs of him with the drug kingpin on social media.
