In the course of a search operation in a remote village in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, a six-year-old Golden Labrador named Kent demonstrated exceptional bravery.

Kent, an integral member of the team, gave her life to protect her fellow soldiers during a gunfight between an Army soldier and a suspected Pakistani terrorist.

Kent, leading a column of soldiers, was on the trail of the fleeing terrorists, determined to bring them to justice.

An Army statement stated, "Army dog Kent was at the forefront of 'Operation Sujaligala'. Kent was leading a column of soldiers on the trail of the fleeing terrorists. It came under heavy hostile fire. While shielding its handler, it laid down its life in the best traditions of the Indian Army."

In honor of her ultimate sacrifice, the Indian Army has released a video showcasing the brave canine, Kent, in action during various search operation drills. Kent, a highly skilled tracker dog, played a crucial role in eight operations over the span of five years.

The video captures Kent's unwavering determination as she leads a group of soldiers through dense bushes near a forest while on the trail of an intruder. With precision, Kent detects the intruder's scent and guides the officers to a cluster of tall bushes.

As the intruder raises his hands in surrender, Kent immediately alerts the soldiers with her barks. She fearlessly leaps towards the individual, ensuring the safety of her human comrades. Kent then assumes her position beside her handler, ready to stand guard.

He stated, "A terrorist and an Army soldier were killed while three security personnel - two Army jawans and one special police officer - were injured in the gunfight."

"The special police officer, Vishal, suffered a bullet injury in his foot and is being evacuated." according to a report from NDTV.

Following the suspicious movement of two individuals, a search-and-cordon operation was initiated in Patrara, located in Rajouri district, on Monday.

As the security forces pursued the suspected terrorists, a few rounds were fired.

When the terrorists managed to escape, the operation extended to nearby areas, eventually leading the forces to Narla village by Tuesday.

Security forces personnel have discovered a bag containing clothes and various items that were abandoned by the suspected terrorists.
