Indian Ambassador to Japan Sibi George briefed a visiting All-Party delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha on Thursday (22 May), ANI reported

During the meeting, Ambassador George emphasised that Japan was among the first countries to condemn the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack.

The delegation’s visit forms part of India's broader diplomatic outreach under "Operation Sindoor," aimed at reinforcing its global message against cross-border terrorism.

"On the terror attack happened, cross-border terrorism happened, Japan was one of the first countries [to respond]. The all-party delegation [is here], so that we can discuss how we approach our Japanese interlocutory. Our parliamentary delegation is led by honourable Member of Parliament Sanjay Jha," ANI quoted Ambassador George as saying.

The Indian Embassy in Tokyo stated that India’s firm stance against terrorism, as demonstrated in its recent military actions, will be a central theme in all diplomatic engagements during the delegation’s visit.

Apart from Sanjay Jha, the team includes Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Dr. Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah; CPI(M) MP John Brittas; and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.

The outreach is focused on briefing international counterparts about India’s response to the Pahalgam attack and emphasising its continued stand against terrorism emanating from across the border.

India had launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, which involved precision strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Following the escalation, both countries agreed to cease military action after a communication between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan.
