Jharkhand exit polls
As counting begins for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, exit polls released two days ago suggested a likely victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 81-seat assembly. However, one exit poll had forecast a win for Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance.
Matrize had predicted the NDA would secure 42-47 seats, with the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) winning 25-30 seats. Peoples Pulse estimated the NDA’s tally at 44-53 seats, while the INDIA bloc was projected to win 25-37. Times Now-JVC forecasted 40-44 seats for the NDA and 30-40 for the Grand Alliance.
The BJP contested 68 seats, partnering with AJSU (10), JD(U) (2), and LJP(RV) (1). The JMM contested 41 seats, allied with Congress (30), RJD (6), and CPI(ML) (4).
The contest in Jharkhand is primarily between the BJP-led NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
