Actress Kangana Ranaut won Lok Sabha elections from Mandi
Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a constable-rank lady CISF officer at the Mohali International Airport in Chandigarh on Thursday (6 June).
As per media reports, an argument broke out after frisking for security, which led to the newly elected Lok Sabha member from Mandi being slapped by the lady constable.
Ranaut released a video after the incident and said, "When I went past the security check, a CISF woman security personnel in next cabin waited for me to cross her and then hit me on the face."
"She started abusing me and when I asked why did she do so, she said that she supports farmers' protests. I am safe but my concern is how we handle the terrorism and militancy increasing in Punjab?" she added.
As per Indian Express, the accused constable accepted bearing grudges against Ranaut since the farmers’ agitation when the Mandi MP allegedly passed wrong comments against the women of Punjab.
Meanwhile, Ranaut is set to file a complaint in this regard with the Ministry of Home Affairs as CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) comes under it and is responsible for security at airports among other places.
Ranaut won the Lok Sabha elections by defeating Congress' Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 74,755 votes in her maiden election on a BJP ticket.
