DMK MP Kanimozhi
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi, heading an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation to Spain as part of India’s global outreach following Operation Sindoor, emphasised India’s core ethos of "unity in diversity" while addressing the Indian diaspora in Madrid, Money Control reported.
"The national language of India is unity and diversity. That is the message this delegation brings to the world, and that is the most important thing today," said Kanimozhi, reaffirming the nation’s pluralistic identity.
Her statement came amid the DMK’s ongoing disagreement with the Centre over the three-language formula in the National Education Policy 2020.
The DMK, advocating the two-language policy of Tamil and English, has consistently opposed what it views as a central imposition on linguistic autonomy and federal principles.
The delegation, representing multiple political affiliations, presented a united stance on terrorism.
"India has declared that it shall not distinguish between terror and states which sponsor terror. We come together as citizens of India in one voice, bringing the message of our government saying that India is not seeking revenge. India wants accountability, we want justice," she said.
“If this world has to be a safer place, we have to stop these terrorists and terror activities. Any country which allows space to these terrorists, sponsors terror activities has to be held accountable.”
Delegates also met with The Association of Victims of Terrorism in Madrid, exchanging insights on supporting survivors of terror attacks.
The Indian Embassy noted the meeting as a heartfelt exchange on the pain and resilience shared by victims globally.
The delegation includes Rajeev Kumar Rai (SP), Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (RJD), Ashok Mittal (AAP), and former ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.
