BJP Demands Anti-Love Jihad Laws Over 'Brutal Murder Of Mahalakshmi By Ashraf', Says Kannadigas Not Safe Under 'Hitler' Siddaramaiah

The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised the issue of the horrifying murder of a woman in Bengaluru, where the woman's body was chopped into pieces and kept in a refrigerator.

The woman, identified as Mahalakshmi, used to live alone in a flat in Malleswaram after separating from her husband Hemant Das in December last year.

Das claimed that Mahalakshmi was in an illicit relationship with Ashraf, who used to work in a salon in Nelamangala and suspects that Ashraf might have killed her.

Finding a love Jihad angle in this case, the BJP posted, "And this is exactly why Congress opposes Anti-Love Jihad laws—to protect demons from being hanged."

Alleging that the appeasement policies of Congress in Karnataka have led to a complete collapse of law and order, the BJP said, "Kannadigas are no longer safe in this Hitler-led Siddaramaiah government."

Calling the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi 'balak buddhi', the BJP said, "While you weep for Hamas terrorists, here’s something for you to consider," referring to anti-love Jihad laws.

Mahalakshmi's body was found stuffed into the refrigerator by her mother, who went to check on Saturday (21 September) after the landlord complained of a foul smell.

The police have assembled five teams to investigate the case, focusing on questioning individuals close to the victim and reviewing footage from over 150 CCTV cameras.

Authorities are still searching for Mahalakshmi’s mobile phone, which is suspected to have been taken by the perpetrator. The weapon used in the murder and subsequent mutilation of the body also remains undiscovered.
