The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which has been investigating the POCSO case against former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, has now approached a special court seeking his arrest.

The CID has already summoned Yediyurappa and requested his appearance for questioning in the case. The former CM is currently in New Delhi and is expected to return to Bengaluru soon.

Meanwhile, B S Yediyurappa has approached the high court seeking the annulment of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case filed against him.

On 15 March, Yediyurappa commented, "I have learned that a complaint has been filed against me by a woman. About a month ago, they used to visit, but I didn’t pay much attention. One day, when I noticed them crying, I called them and asked what happened."

He further added, "They told me they had been wronged. I then called the police commissioner (B) Dayananda and asked him to listen to them and take appropriate action. But then she started speaking against me right there. I thought she was unwell and asked the police commissioner to investigate. Now this has been twisted and made into an FIR."

As of now, Yediyurappa has not yet responded to the notice sent by the CID, and the investigation department has now approached the special court to issue an arrest warrant for the former CM.
