Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Wipro Founder-Chairman Azim Premji, urging support in tackling Bengaluru’s persistent traffic woes along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor, report ANI.

In his letter dated 19 September, Siddaramaiah proposed limited vehicular access through the Wipro campus to ease congestion at the busy Iblur junction.

Extending greetings and acknowledging Wipro’s role in strengthening Karnataka’s IT ecosystem and socio-economic progress, Siddaramaiah emphasised that traffic congestion on the ORR, especially at Iblur, significantly affects mobility, productivity, and the quality of urban life.

Quoting from the letter Siddaramaiah wrote: “One of the key challenges currently facing Bengaluru, particularly along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor at Iblur junction is severe traffic congestion during peak hours, which adversely impacts mobility, productivity, and the quality of urban life."

The Chief Minister noted that such collaboration would not only relieve pressure on the ORR but also improve the daily commuter experience. He further requested Wipro to engage with government officials to design a mutually agreeable implementation plan.

Siddaramaiah concluded that Wipro’s cooperation could make Bengaluru more efficient and livable while setting an example of public-private partnership in solving urban challenges.
