Protestors in Kolkata are marching towards West Bengal secretariat Nabanna demanding justice for the rape victim whose dead body was found in the seminar hall of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

'We want justice' slogans were raised during the 'Nabanna Abhiyan' march. The march, that began from College Square in Kolkata, is witnessing huge participation of students and other people.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Police is maintaining a heavy presence at the backside of Fort William at Hastings in Kolkata. Check gates have been greased to likely thwart protesters from scaling the barricades.

West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose urged the Mamata Banerjee government to not suppress the peaceful protests and quoted the Supreme Court's order.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted the lie-detector test on accused Sanjay Roy and the former principal of the college Dr Sandip Ghosh.

Roy is said to have accepted his crime, while Ghosh is being grilled for the financial irregularities at the college during his tenure and the lapses and delays in the trainee doctor's murder case.

Both, the financial irregularities case and the rape and murder case, were transferred to the CBI by Calcutta High Court, which came down heavily on the West Bengal Police and government.
