Mahagathbandhan Unveils Tejashwi Pran Patra

The Opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, on Tuesday (28 October) released its joint election manifesto, titled “Tejashwi Pran Patra” — for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, the Navbharat Times reported.

Tejashwi Yadav told the media ahead of the release that the promises in the manifesto were not mere electoral pledges, but his personal commitments.

Released in Patna in the presence of leaders from the RJD, Congress and other alliance partners, the manifesto outlines a series of welfare-focused and employment-driven promises targeting youth, women and economically weaker families.

The most prominent pledge in the document is to ensure one government job for at least one member of every family in Bihar.

Other key commitments include 200 units of free electricity for poor and middle-class households, and five decimals of land ownership for landless families.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said the early release of the Mahagathbandhan manifesto, ahead of the NDA, shows the Opposition’s seriousness and preparedness for governance.

The Mahagathbandhan, comprising the RJD, Congress, Left parties and smaller regional allies, is trying to position itself as a welfare-driven alternative to the ruling NDA, which is expected to unveil its manifesto, “Vikasit Bihar,” on 30 October.

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are shaping up as a contest between the NDA, led by the BJP and JD(U), and the Mahagathbandhan.
