Maharashtra ATS Arrests 43 Bangladeshi Nationals In December 2024 Crackdown On Illegal Entry And Fake Aadhaar Cards

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested nine Bangladeshi nationals for illegally entering and residing in India without valid documents, officials confirmed.
This brings the total number of Bangladeshi nationals apprehended by the ATS last month to 43 in 19 separate cases as part of an intensified special drive.
The latest arrests, conducted over the last four days of 2024 with the assistance of local police in Mumbai, Nashik, Nanded, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, include eight men and one woman.
Officials revealed that the accused had acquired Aadhaar cards by submitting forged documents.
Police have filed five cases against them under the Foreigners Act and other relevant legal provisions.
These individuals were similarly charged under the Foreigners Act for illegal entry and possession of fraudulent Indian identity documents, such as Aadhaar cards.
In a similar development, Delhi Police on Tuesday deported a Bangladeshi mother-son duo.
The woman had reportedly been residing in southwest Delhi since 2005 without valid documentation.
These coordinated actions underscore ongoing efforts by Indian authorities to address illegal immigration and the misuse of Indian identity documents.
