The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the assembly poll dates on Tuesday (15 October) for Maharashtra and Jharkhand along with by-polls for 48 assembly constituencies and two parliamentary constituencies.
The voting in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on 20 November along with one assembly constituency of Uttarakhand and one parliamentary constituency of Maharashtra.
Wayanad constituency of Kerala, which was vacated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, will also vote on 13 November.
On 20 November, the remaining 38 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand will vote. The counting of votes for both Maharashtra and Jharkhand and all by-polls will be held on 23 November.
