Manipur CM Singh Condemns 'Barbaric Violence By Kuki Terrorists, Assures 'Hunt Underway' And Praises CRPF Action

Breaking the silence over the recent violent incidents in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the 'horrific killing of three innocent women and three innocent children by Kuki terrorists.'

In the video message posted on X on Tuesday (19 November) night, Singh assured that the hunt for terrorists is currently underway and they will be brought to justice very soon.

"Around 40 to 50 armed terrorists launched an assault on internally displaced persons residing in a relief camp at Borobekra and targeted a police station in Jiribam," the Manipur CM said.

He praised the timely and decisive response of Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) personnel that repelled the attack and neutralised 10 of those terrorists on the spot and saving hundreds of lives.

"Let us condemn the barbaric violence in the strongest terms. The killing of innocent children and women is a crime against humanity and such acts can never be justified," Singh concluded.

The killing of six people that Singh mentioned, had been missing since 11 November from a camp for the displaced in Jiribam, following an encounter between terrorists and security forces.

Their bodies were subsequently recovered in a few days. Police found that they belonged to the Meitei community. Since then, more companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been deployed in the state.
