A massive fire broke out on the Jaipur–Ajmer Highway on Tuesday (7 October) night when a tanker collided with a truck filled with LPG cylinders near Sanwarda area in Dudu, India Today reported.

The intense blaze reportedly destroyed seven vehicles.

The collision led to a chain of explosions as LPG cylinders burst one after another.

The force was so powerful that some exploded cylinders were hurled several meters away, with flames and loud blasts visible and heard from several kilometres away.

According to a PTI report, IG Jaipur Rahul Prakash said that two to three persons, including the tanker driver, were injured in the incident.

Chief Medical and Health Officer Jaipur-I Ravi Shekhawat, informed that the tanker driver received first aid at a nearby hospital.

Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, who arrived at the site on Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s orders, assured that the situation was under control with no confirmed fatalities so far.

Deputy CM Bairwa said that the drivers and cleaners of the trucks were currently missing, and efforts were underway to trace them.

According to PTI report, eyewitnesses revealed that the LPG truck had been parked outside a roadside eatery when a speeding tanker rammed into it from behind.

"A tanker hit the truck carrying LPG cylinders from behind. The driver of the tanker was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries," Vinod, an eyewitness, was quoted as saying by PTI.

This tragedy echoes a similar incident from December last year when an LPG tanker collided with a truck near Bhankrota, on the same highway, ignited a massive fireball that claimed 19 lives and turned a stretch of the road into inferno.
