"Matter Is In Court, Will Not Leave INDI Alliance": Arvind Kejriwal Skips Seventh ED Summons In Delhi Liquor Policy Case

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal is set to skip the seventh summons sent to him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor excise policy case.

AAP said that the matter is in the court and the next hearing is on 16 March. The party asked the ED to wait for the court's decision and stop sending summons daily.

This comes after Kejriwal had already skipped six summonses. The sixth summons had asked him to appear before the central investigative agency on 19 February and the seventh summoned him today.

Last week, the agency filed a complaint against Kejriwal under section 174 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and said that he intentionally disobeyed the first three summons issued to him.

"We will not leave the INDI Alliance. Modi government should not create pressure like this," AAP said who has been calling these summons "illegal" and a pressure tactics by the Centre.

A couple of days ago, the Congress and the AAP sealed a seat-sharing deal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Goa, and Chandigarh.

However, in Punjab, both the parties will contest elections separately as the state units of both parties stuck to their position of not aligning with the other.
