Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train: 304 Km Viaduct, 388 Km Piers Work Complete, Says NHSRCL

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, India’s first high-speed rail corridor, is hitting major construction milestones, with over 300 km of viaduct constructed and trackbed work steadily progressing.
According to National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRC), the implementing agency for the bullet train project, 304 km of viaduct and 388 km of pier work for the project have been finished.
The project has also completed 14 river bridges, 7 steel bridges, and 5 prestressed concrete (PSC) bridges.
Trackbed construction is well underway, with 163 km completed so far, according to NHSRCL.
On the progress of the Vapi bullet train station in Gujarat, NHSRCL said that the station is nearing structural completion.
Located in Dungra village along the Vapi-Silvassa road, the station’s design reflects the theme of speed, visible in both its façade and interiors.
Roof sheeting and electrical installations are currently in progress.
The station approach viaduct towards Ahmedabad is completed and is in progress towards Mumbai.
The station will offer amenities such as a business class lounge, nursery, lifts, and escalators to ensure passenger comfort.
It is strategically located—7 km from Vapi Railway Junction, 7.5 km from the city bus stop, and 5 km from the Vapi GIDC industrial zone—ensuring strong regional connectivity.
