Mumbai BMW Crash Accused And Shiv Sena Leader Son Mihir Shah Arrested After Absconding For Three Days

Mihir Shah, the accused in the BMW hit-and-run case, was finally arrested on Tuesday (9 July) in Shahpur, Maharashtra, after evading capture for three days as per a report by Hindustan Times.

Shah had been on the run since the incident. Earlier, the police registered a case against his father, Rajesh Shah, and the family driver, Rajendra Singh Bidawat, for aiding his escape.

Meanwhile, the Dadar Metropolitan Magistrate court has remanded Bidawat to police custody until 11 July, marking his second remand. Rajesh Shah secured his bail on Monday.

Mihir Shah, aged 23, is the son of Rajesh Shah, a leader of the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

At 5:25 am on Sunday, Mihir allegedly crashed into a two-wheeler carrying the woman and her husband on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli.

The impact flung Kaveri and Pradeep Nakhwa into the air, landing them on the bonnet of Mihir’s BMW. While Pradeep managed to jump off, Kaveri, could not and was allegedly dragged by Mihir’s car for some distance.

A case has been registered based on Pradeep Nakhwa's statement under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act, including Sections 105, 281, 125(b), 238, 324(4), 184, 134(a), 134(b), and 187.
