The National Commission For Protection Of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought action against micro-blogging website Twitter over a video which allegedly violates "child rights" and uses children for promotion of terrorism.
The complainant has further alleged that "Twitter is allowing terror outfits like Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind supporters to operate against India and carry out recruitment activities by using children to join terrorism against India".
The NCPCR has asked the J&K DGP to look into the allegations made in the complaint and file an FIR if the location falls in the J&K police's jurisdiction.
It further requested the J&K police chief to take strict penal action against Twitter for allowing such videos on its platform. The commission has also urged the J&K DGP to file FIR against Twitter India's managing director Manish Maheshwari and Shagufta Kamran, Twitter India policy manager, under relevant provisions of law for violating law of the land and take necessary action against them.
Further, the commission has also sought an action taken report in the matter to be submitted to it in seven days.
