The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a second charge sheet in the NEET UG case, naming six individuals including the principal of the Hazaribagh school from where the question paper was leaked.
The charge sheet, filed before the special court for CBI cases in Patna, names Baldev Kumar alias Chintu, Sunny Kumar and Aman Kumar Singh for involvement in the conspiracy of paper leak, Hindustan Times reported.
The charge sheet also names the vice principal of Oasis School Mohammad Imtiyaz Alam along with the principal Dr Ahsanul Haque. Alam was also the centre superintendent while Haque was the city coordinator for the exam.
Along with them, a Hazaribagh reporter Jamaluddin alias Jamal has also been named. They have been charged under Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and Section 109 (abetment) of Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita.
The CBI investigation uncovered that Haque colluded with Alam and others to steal and leak the NEET UG 2024 question paper. This case has become a focal point in the ongoing examination of irregularities in NEET exam.
In its first charge sheet filed on 1 August, the CBI named 13 accused individuals. So far, 48 people have been arrested, including students, exam solvers, and facilitators involved in the leak.
Last month, the CBI stated that it utilised advanced forensic techniques, artificial intelligence, CCTV footage, and mobile tower location analysis to collect evidence against those implicated in the scandal.
