Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (7 February) slammed Congress, accusing it of creating a north-south divide in the country.

PM Modi made these remarks while replying to the 'Motion of Thanks' in the Rajya Sabha.

"Today the country needs competitive, cooperative federalism," PM Modi said.

He asked what would have happened in India if during Covid-19 pandemic, the states that were producing Oxygen and vaccines had refused to supply them to other parts of the country.

Attacking Congress, PM Modi said, "Efforts are being made to break the country. Language like "our tax, our money" is being used. This is a new threat to the future of the country," he said.

"Stop looking for new narratives to break the country. We need to try to take country together for its development," he added.
