Two new Vande Bharat Express trains from Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati (RKMP) station to Patna and Lucknow is set to commence within the next two months, according to a TOI report.

This move by the Railways is expected to enhance direct connectivity between the capital cities of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, offering passengers a faster and more comfortable alternative.

According to railway officials from the Bhopal division cited in the ToI report, the service will improve interstate travel facilities.

The Patna-bound service will be managed by the Patna railway division, with both Patna and Bhopal divisions set to coordinate the final operational arrangements.

Timetables and fare structures will be announced once service allocation is formally issued.

The RKMP–Patna journey, currently taking 18 to 20 hours will be shortened to approximately 12 to 13 hours by the Vande Bharat’s semi-high-speed capabilities.

The new train promises to alleviate long waiting lists and queues, significantly streamlining the passenger experience.

Similarly, the Bhopal–Lucknow Vande Bharat service will reduce travel time from up to 12 hours to just 6–8 hours.

The train, featuring eight coaches, will include AC chair car and executive class options and is equipped with the advanced Kavach Protection System.

Energy-efficient by design, the service consumes 25 per cent less electricity while increasing both speed and safety.
